BROD CESAR GLORIOSO 65B

​

Brod Cesar Glorioso 65B was a distinguished criminal law practitioner having pursued a career in criminal prosecution which spanned more than 25 years until his retirement on May 28, 2011 as City Prosecutor of Pasig City, a position which he held since 1996. His chosen pursuit began in the early 1980s as Prosecutor in Makati, Muntinlupa and Pasig, then in 1986 as City Prosecutor in Pasay City and later as Provincial Prosecutor of Rizal. Before that he joined the Talabong Law Office in the 1970s and was Legal Counsel/Retainer for the Rural Bank of Pagbilao, Quezon and Far East Bank and Trust Company of the Philippines.

In 1969, Brod Cesar obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University College of Law after completing his Bachelor of Arts (AB) degree in 1965 at the Ateneo de Manila University in Loyola Heights where he was accepted as scholar having graduated from Maryknoll Academy, Lucena City, Quezon as Salutatorian of Class 1961.

He was married to Felicitas “Fely” Mendoza who passed away before him and with whom he had a daughter, Charina Glorioso-Laguardia, and a son, Carlo who likewise passed away before him. He left four grandchildren; Chloe and Gavin from Charina, and Angelo and Charlize from Carlo.

“Ready, Your Honor!” This is the signature-remark of Fiscal Cesar Glorioso in every roll-call of our court hearings. Indeed, as he always comes to court prepared and never asked for the deferment of any hearings, even though the records were just handed to him on-the-spot, or that he just met his witnesses for the first time. Modesty aside, we were one of the Top Performers in RTC Manila in terms of “Case Disposal” during his term as the “Trial Prosecutor” for our branch. For efficiently working with the then PAO lawyer, Atty. Nap Cabrejas (now Fiscal Cabrejas), our docket of active cases for both civil and criminal have not exceeded 70. There was even a time when we only had 40 pending cases in court.

Fiscal, thank you for unselfishly sharing your talent with us. Thank you for your friendship and camaraderie. Now that you are Home with ourAlmighty One, rest well in His loving arms.

Many call you “Glorious” because you were indeed one. But to me, you were the “coolest” Fiscal I’ve known. Always smiling as if you don’t mind the heavy trials of Heinous Crime Court. Enjoying life each day but most especially at night (humor) We worked together for 2 years (2004 to 2006) and during those years you taught me to enjoy life. You are the person who, though good, does not profess to be oner. I said to myself, when I become a Fiscal, I want to be like you. And now that I am, I realize thatI do not even come close to how you were and I think I can never be. But I will keep on trying. You lived a good life and I thank you for the many experiences we shared. You were indeed both “Glorious” and “Cool”. Thank you Fiscal Glorioso. Rest in peace. Condolence to the family.

Fiscal Glorioso was my mentor and partner at my RTC Br.27 and 28. He was “galante,” jolly, a person with a kind heart, humorous and friendly. He was physically and mentally healthy. Very responsible and compassionate for other people. Fiscal Glorioso was a good friend and a good person. Thank you Fiscal.

Fiscal Glorioso was my very first boss. I was afraid and happy at the same time when I was introduced to him. Afraid because my father was just 3 years older than him and I had this notion – almost the same generation, almost same style of work- meaning he’d be strict as my father. But I was wrong, he was so cool about everything. Very good agad ako sa first Information na ginawa ko pero he had to change a few words, and these words were new to me. Yung hindi mo gagamitin sa veryday life mo. I was amazed and thought, “This man is a walking dictionary/thesaurus.” I was challenged to improve my vocabulary first day pa lang. His Resolutions were all handwritten so imagine how challenging it was for me to read and type words that I was not very familiar with.

Aside from having a cool baby-boomer boss, I also found a second Dad at work. Fiscal Glory didn’t treat me like his own daughter.

                I remember one day he randomly asked me what I wanted for lunch. He wanted to treat me because he missed his daughter, Ms. Charry (coincidentally name is Shery, humor) very much.

                On some days, before giving me my tasks, he’d randomly tell stories about his children and his grandchildren. He was so proud of them and he’d always tell me that they miss each other so much. I found him to be happiest and emotional when he talked about them.

                Some people may know him as a chickboy or pilyo or one who always drinks brandy or whisky for coffee but he loived his children above everything.

                WE may have not seen each other for a very long time until he passed, but Fiscal Cesar Glorioso will always hold a special spot in my heart. He will always be my Papa in OCP Manila.
