My Brother Aquilans,

​

         I congratulate you for successfully holding the Aquila Legis Las Vegas Convention. Although not all of the Brods are able to join you for this most awaited occasion, I am certain that all of the Brods are pleased that you are holding this event in honor of our dearly beloved Fraternity. The holding of this momentous event, is proof of how far this fraternity has come. With so many brods now active beyond the shores of our country, we are now, truly, a global institution.

           For sixty-seven years now, since 1949 when our forefathers first started this great legacy, the Aquila Legis Fraternity, our Brotherhood and Way of Life, has been steadfast. We have endured the test of time and trials thrown against us. Time and time again we have witnessed how Aquilans have conquered all kinds of trials, and we pride ourselves with our ability to surmount the odds, and rightly so, for wherever we are in the world, and in whatever paths we have chosen, we are united by our uncompromising fidelity to our principles, and in our unyielding commitment to our way of life.

          The question that always arises especially from those outside Fraternity, is “How does Aquila Legis do it?” The answer for us all has always been very simple and straightforward. It has never even been a secret, yet it is still so puzzling for some who are not one of us. There is surprisingly no magic formula, and it is beautifully so. Our unhidden blueprint for success has always been our persistence and loyalty to each and every single one of our Principles. Those principles are all we have ever needed to live by. They are what set us apart. They give us strength and allow us to succeed in whatever endeavor we have chosen.

             Truly, it is a great honor to serve our beloved Fraternity side by side with the Brods knowing this, and an even greater honor to simply be part of this Brotherhood. Allow me, on behalf of all the Brods to thank you all for what indeed is another milestone in our Fraternity’s history.

​

           Through joining the Aquila Legis Fraternity, we have been humbled and taught what it means to be of service to others. We have learned that the greatest joy of being part of this Brotherhood is not some quantifiable benefit to ourselves, but the simple joy of serving a fellow Brod. This conviction, this undying love for our brothers, through our joys and tears, is what animates every Aquilan. Of all the things that this Fraternity has given us, it is our fellow Brods who are the greatest gifts any of us could ever have hoped to receive.

           As the Brods shared tonight various visions for our beloved Fraternity, I would like to invite everyone to recall that we are bound by the very same Principles and that we are in fact part of only one brotherhood. We are, in fact, one family. We are One Aquila. As we face the uncertainties of the future, we draw strength from the collective wisdom of our past, inspiration from our present successes, and hope for the promise of and ever more radiant future for this Fraternity. Whatever paths we may take in the tomorrow that is to come, we must remain true to our Principles for it is in how dearly we hold these Principles in our hearts, that our strength as a brotherhood is judged.

​

           As you celebrate the night’s festivities, may the Lord of the Eagles of the Law grant you all continued success. Let this be the start of another storied tradition to pass down to the next generation. I toast and applaud all you present here tonight, true pillars, who embody the best of this Brotherhood.
